Ideally located in Malta's deep-draft Grand Harbour, the Kordin Grain Terminal is perfectly placed for handling, storage and transhipment of all types of free-flowing grains such as Wheat, Maize, Soybean, and Barley, which reach the Mediterranean.
Key characteristics of the Kordin Grain Terminal include:
- 12 silos each accommodating 1.550 metric tons
- 18 additional bins each capable of holding 3,740 metric tons
- Total storage capacity is 86,000 metric tons
- Magazine Wharf (Kordin Grain Terminal's unloading berth) is 252 metres long, 15 Metres deep
- Magazine Wharf accepts Panamax bulk carriers up to 70,000 DWT
- Shore-based equipment includes 1 mobile mechanical ship unloader (HL-SKT type) with a bulk unloading capacity of 4000 metric tons per 8-hour working day
